California really isn’t! It took me 45 minutes to go 9 miles yesterday, pretty sad. At the same time I probably wouldn’t have been bothered by it that much but I spent the last half of the day thinking of nothing but getting back to hotel so I could change shoes. See, Parsons has a pretty strict dress code and the men are required to wear a nice shirt and tie to work everyday, well except Fridays and I’m still dressed nicely, just no tie. Anyway, I found all this out before I came out here and I’d been meaning to buy some new shirts and new dress shoes for a while so I decided to go ahead and take care of that before I came out here. Well I hadn’t worn the shoes for more than about 2 hours ever and I hadn’t really walked in them at all. Yesterday the shoes exacted their revenge on my heals and rubbed blisters on both feet, the one on the left was worse because it rubbed the blister AND popped the blister. Needless to say I could think of nothing but getting those shoes off, I was tired because it’s a long trip out here, especially when you have 4 chargeable hours before you get on the plane for a 6 hour flight, then have 2 hours after to get off the plane just to get to the otherside of LA.
Anyway, enough whining. I spent yesterday in meetings all day, the day went by really fast and before I knew it it was 5:00 in the evening and I was on the way home. Wes (the guy I’m filling in for) and I went to this cool little italian joint for lunch and the Parsons office is located within walking distance of a ton of restaurants. So, it’s very damn cool!
Today has been the opposite of yesterday though, very slow! I’m really looking forward to tomorrow when Sarah get’s here. I’m actually excited about touring her around a little bit and the two of us getting to be together by ourselves for the first time in a long time. Seems like I’m always gone and we always have something to do. So I’m thinking about taking her to the Getty Museum, and doing the Hollywood thing, maybe heading over to the board walk in Santa Monica and just having a nice laid back good time.
Well, enough about me, just wanted to post a little sumpin’ while I had some time. I currently have a stack of drawings on my desk to review though so I have to let you go.
