Maybe I’ll get home someday. Because there were some thunderstorms last night on the East Coast U.S. Air decided it would be prudent to cancel a crap-load of flights. My flight from here to Huntsville was among those flights canceled. I originally thought that I would get rebooked on a flight into Nashville and get Sarah to come up and get me, or rent a car and drive home, but they kept changing the departure time or the flight to Nashville (remeniscent of the flight I was on and the others I’d heard get canceled.) So I decided to rebook on the flight that leaves this morning and stay in a hotel last night. They ended up putting me up in a pretty nice hotel for a really good price. U.S. Air wouldn’t pay for the hotel since the cancellation was due to weather. That’s a load because there was no need to cancel all those flights.

Anyway, I guess I’ll be home sometime today, but some of the wet weather is still in the area. We’ll see how things go.

Well, off I go again. I leave for D.C. tomorrow morning at the booty crack of dawn. You know, I’m actually starting to get tired of this. I’m ready to be home for more than one day from time to time. Oh well, it pays the bills.

So I leave at 6:20 tomorrow morning and return at 8:00 Thursday evening. Then Sarah and I are headed to Nashvegas for the weekend. Not sure if we’re leaving Friday night or Saturday morning, but I’m hoping not to miss my hockey game on Sunday afternoon/evening (not sure when it actually is). I guess we might have to come home after church on Sunday (if we go with her Mom). I’ve missed two games in a row and would hate to miss a third.

Anyway, that’s all I have for now, I’ll unleash the big news in a couple more days.

Until then that should be teaser enough. Some of you already know, others are thinking they know and others have no clue, but it’s good.

Well, I have to say that I’ve been a bit on the stressed side the last two days. I’ve been working on a project for one of the PM’s downstairs and it requires that I take a proposal from a contractor and a estimate from the government and compare them to determine whether or not the contractor’s price is fair and reasonable. I believe that the contractor’s proposal is fair. The only problem is that the idiot who originally did the estimate for the government left some key things out. The two prices were only 2.5% apart, but that’s a lot on a project of this size. (more…)
