Friggin Soap Opera
You know, I’m not a quitter by any means and I don’t have a lot of respect for people who are. However, there is one particular group of people that I really wish would quit the ASCE, simply walk away, because they are the ones that are pointing fingers and causing all of the problems that they percieve exist. They think there’s an “us and them” mentality in the club. That’s funny becuase I don’t see them working everynight that I’m there, how can you say that WE are the ones that cause the “us and them” mentality when YOU are the one that’s not showing up to work?
I really wish that people would learn that “He who is without sin cast the first stone!”
We’ve been having the same trouble in the IEEE lab. There’s this one guy named jim who decided that competition time was the best time to criticize the lack of involvement IEEE has with anything other than the robot. We burned him with a soldering iron, locked him outside the EB, and even on a couple of occassions we asked him to use the table saw to cut small circuit boards. Nothing works.
We didn’t really let him use the table saw.

At least ASCE has the option of “accidental” drowning.

I think I’ve heard mention of an academic advisor in previous writings. It’s seems like you guys are going to have aneurisms soon. Maybe it’s time to get the advisor involved in some mediation.

The Academic advisors can’t see past winning! They think the finger pointers are a necessity for us to win, so do whatever they can to keep them around and tell us to suck it up.

I talked to Toutanji last night and he pretty much blantantly said that. He said “All I’m asking is for you to hold this together until we win regionals, because we HAVE to win this year or else we’re done.”
Yeah. Right. Thanks for the help, pal.

Guess he doesn’t realize the club’s very close to being done regardless of the outcome at regionals.

Yea, the club is done whether we win regionals or not! Winning regionals will only prolong our agony. I hope we win though. I like pain!

Is most of the resistance coming from new freshmen?
Comment by jeff — 3/15/2004 @ 9:30 am
No, it’s actually one of the members that started with the club last year. All the sudden this person thinks they know how to lead better than anyone else. Go figure!
